Brazilians and the Miami Real Estate Market

Brazilians are accounting for a rather large percentage of the home buyers in Miami and have significantly contributed to the overall upward trend in home sales in Miami for 2011. Significant home price increases in Brasilia, Rio De Janeiro, and Sao Paulo have pushed these markets past most all U.S. cities in prices. Home prices in Brazil have increased 25% and continue to trend up. Another important motivator for Brazilian buyers is the currency’s 45% gain against the U.S. dollar since 2008, according to Bloomberg news.
