Grove Arts Fest hits streets in February

It’s almost a rite of passage, a tradition, a must as we like to say, to attend the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival, held over three days on Presidents Day Weekend. It’s scheduled for Feb. 18-20, 2012.
The once bohemian neighborhood still maintains a bit of the hippie vibe and the artists that attend the festival always evoke that feeling. It’s easy to make a day of it at the festival. With more than 360 artists scheduled at this year’s event, there will be a tremendous variety of pieces available.

Downtown Miami is hot: A multitude of reasons why

Downtown Miami has changed. No longer does the area shut down when the clock strikes five. The past decade has seen the area come to life with new museums and parks, performing arts spaces, restaurants and bars, condominiums, a continuously growing community college and retail/shopping outlets.
Developers have made many plans. Museum Park will replace the former Bicentennial Park space, where the Miami Art Museum and Miami Science Museum & Planetarium will share space. Construction has begun and it should open to the public in Fall 2013. The nearby Adrienne Arsht Center, …
