Did you know that you have a lush, tropical winery right in your own backyard (and yes, that was tropical and winery in the same sentence!)? Well, you do, and it’s called Schnebly Redland’s Winery and it’s right in the agricultural Redlands region of Homestead.
Schnebly Redland’s Winery creates table wines, sparkling wines, and dessert wines – and not a single bottle is priced above $40. The wines include tropical concoctions that include lychee, passion fruit, and carambola (star fruit). To get an idea of what these could possibly taste like, the carambola table wine is comparable to a pinot grigio and the lychee to a riesling. The passion fruit tastes so unlike any other wine that you’ll just have to try it yourself! It’s a wonderful opportunity to taste lovely, local productions. The wines may even be ordered via their website (from most states).
The family-owned winery is open daily until the early evening and features live musical entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights –next up is local rhythm and blues group – Big City Blues Band. Wine tastings are a daily treat but tours of the beautiful property are reserved for weekends only. The tours are not to miss to take in the gorgeous sights and learn the history of Peter and Denisse Schnebly’s winery and the processes to create their special wines.
