The nine year old New World Symphony has had time to settle into it’s new Frank Gehry designed home (adjacent to Lincoln Road) and is now preparing to launch head-first into the 2011-2012 season – a milestone not to be missed by South Florida’s music aficionados.
See the award-winning Michael Tilson Thomas and other top NWS conductors lead the symphony through timeless favorites from the masters that include Tchaikovsky, Mozart, and Stravinsky. Even new sounds will be performed with the New World Symphony’s in the Sounds of the Times Series (i.e. Messiaen’s Turangalila Symphony and Vivier’s Lonely Child) ~ a great intro into the world of the symphony for teenagers, young adults, and anyone unaware of the delight of the orchestra.
The Friday Evening Series, The Saturday Evening Series (Parts One and Two), The Sunday Symphony Series, Sounds of the Times Series, Arsht Center Series, Chamber Music Series, and Concerts for Kids Series feature subscriptions ranging from $16-$369. This is a great time to see the 100,000 square foot $160 million facility if you haven’t already had the opportunity to do so.
See the entire calendar here: NWS 2011-2012 Season– and tickets may be purchased in person, or via phone, mail, or internet.
Don’t forget about NWS’ Wallcasts – live feed projections of select performances outside on the symphony’s walls. Wallcast viewings are perfect additions to lazy evening strolls on Lincoln Road. Don’t miss out on the fun and excitement!
